Our Story

The idea for Utsie started back in 1996 when my wife, Marie, and I were out to dinner.

We observed (with frustration) that every table around us was being sanitized with the same old dirty rag - over and over and over again. Rather than being properly disinfected, bacteria and debris from previous diners lingered on the surfaces.

We began to notice this at nearly every restaurant we visited until, one night, I decided it was time for a solution. I holed myself up in our garage with some tools and scrap wood and constructed a prototype for my invention, Utsie.
